The Department of Cardiac Anaesthesia at GKNM Hospital successfully hosted the third edition of its National-Level Live Intraoperative Echocardiography Workshop on May 30, 2026, centered around the theme “The Right Heart.” The workshop was the first of its kind in India to feature live transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) sessions broadcast directly from the operating theatre, offering delegates a unique real-time learning experience.

Renowned experts including Dr. P. Chandrasekaran (USA), Dr. Deepak K. Tempe (Delhi), Dr. Muralidhar Kanchi (Bengaluru), Dr. C. Kumar (Chennai), and Dr. Hemamalini (Chennai) served as faculty for the program. Organized by Dr. M. Karthik Babu and Dr. Kaushik Jothinath, the workshop brought together over 100 cardiac anaesthesiologists, cardiologists, and cardiac surgeons from across the country to explore advanced intraoperative echocardiography techniques and discuss complex cardiac conditions through live surgical demonstrations and expert interactions.
