AMS CONNECT 2026 A Multidisciplinary Approach to Antimicrobial Stewardship in Medicine and Oncology
The academic conference AMS CONNECT 2026 focuses on improving antimicrobial stewardship through collaborative research, which emphasizes clinical pharmacy interventions in medical and oncology practices. The conference organized by the Clinical Pharmacist Team at GKNM Hospital will take place under the leadership of Dr. Ragupathy Veluswamy, CEO; Dr. G. Manoharan (MBBS, MD), Chief Medical Officer; and Dr. Madhavi Gopinath, Director of Quality Excellence, GKNM Hospital.
The conference will occur on Saturday, 31 January 2026, at the GKD Auditorium, GKNM Hospital, Coimbatore, which will host healthcare professionals from in and around Coimbatore, with participation of 150+ delegates.
The scientific program will begin with Dr. Ganesh Perumal P., Consultant Microbiologist, presenting a detailed antimicrobial stewardship session, which will study the ways that antimicrobial resistance develops and its impact on patient care. The next session will feature Dr. R. Bala Vinoth, who will present contemporary therapeutic methods and clinical management pathways for handling complicated cases of multidrug-resistant infections.
Dr. Grace Marry John, Board-Certified Infectious Disease Clinical Pharmacist, will show how clinical pharmacists enhance patient outcomes by implementing pharmaceutical interventions in PK/PD-based antimicrobial therapy for critically ill patients. The medical professional, Dr. N. Ramesh, who specializes in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases, es will share his expertise on how to recognize and assess medication-related side effects from antimicrobials during standard clinical workflows.
The Consultant Hematologist, Oncologist, and Bone Marrow Transplant Specialist, Dr. L. Ajeitha, will analyze how to maximize antimicrobial treatment methods for patients who need hematology treatment and bone marrow transplant procedures.
The program will feature interactive clinical case-based discussion, oral scientific paper presentations, and recognition through awards and certificates. The sessions will create a learning environment that promotes collaboration while supporting decision-making based on actual research evidence.
