Unlocking Safe Anaesthesia

Unlocking Safe Anaesthesia—2nd Edition: Mastering Oncoanaesthesia at GKNM Hospital
The GKNM Hospital's Department of Anaesthesiology will host the 2nd Edition of "Unlocking Safe Anaesthesia"—a CME and workshop on mastering oncoanaesthesia: from advanced insights to practical wisdom—in December 2025, at the GKNM Hospital. This prestigious event will assemble eminent experts, consultants, and postgraduate students from across the nation to interface with advanced and better practices in onco-anaesthesia. The program is under the guidance of Dr. Ragupathy Velusamy, CEO of GKNM Hospital, with Dr. B. Soundaravalli, Chairperson of the Department of Anaesthesia, as the organizing chairperson.
The scientific sessions would include eminent speakers like Dr. Sohan Solanki from Tata Memorial Hospital, Dr. Sumalata Shetty from K.S. Hedge Medical Academy, and Dr. Lakshmi Kumar from Amritha Institute of Medical Sciences. They would give valuable inputs on airway management during head and neck cancer surgeries, robotic anaesthesia, and lung isolation techniques. There would be a quiz session with very attractive prizes to stimulate the winners and participants. Dr. Naresh W. Paliwal would hold a masterclass on segmental spinal anaesthesia and will focus on target anaesthesia techniques to devise better clinical outcomes. They will have an afternoon session where they may be able to attend a hands-on workshop around advanced procedures such as FATE, lung ultrasound, and difficult airway management through simulation training. This promises to be a rich learning experience with objectives of improving anaesthesia practice, enhancing patient safety, and motivating further development in oncoanaesthesia practice.
