We are glad to welcome Consultants and Postgraduate students with a keen interest in point-of-care ultrasound to the second edition of our Thoracic Ultrasound & Basic Echo Workshop 2026, a hands-on, skill-building event brought to you by the Department of Interventional Pulmonology, GKNM Hospital, in association with the Coimbatore Respiratory Society.

Ultrasound has transformed the way we assess and manage patients in pulmonology, critical care, and emergency medicine. This workshop is designed to bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and confident clinical practice, giving attendees the tools to apply thoracic ultrasound and basic echocardiography in real-world scenarios from day one.

Over the course of the day, participants will explore 10 carefully curated topics from the basics of lung USG and pleural pathology to diaphragm assessment, DVT screening, volume status evaluation, and the BLUE and FALLS protocols. The learning goes beyond lectures. Attendees will get direct hands-on practice on animal models and mannequins, work through interactive case discussions drawn from emergency and critical care settings, and access two dedicated Echo workstations for focused echocardiography training.

Faculty from Pulmonology, Intensive Care Medicine, and Emergency Medicine will guide participants through each session, making this a truly multi-speciality, practical learning experience. With TNMC Credit Hours applied, attendees walk away with both skills and recognition.
