Biography
- Dr. V. Nirmala, Qualified MBBS in 1998 from coimbatore medical college, coimbatore under Dr. MGR medical university, Tamilnadu.
- After graduation served as General paractioner and family physician in Coimbatore
- Completed PGDHSC in Diabetology in 2009 ,Followed by fellowship in Diabetology from CMC Vellore in 2012
- Joined GKNMH as Associate consultant in the Department of Home health services and palliative care in 2018
- Since then served through Homecare ,Inpatient and Outpatient services to patients with advanced diseases to provide comfortcare with empathy and compassion.
- Completed certificate course in Essentials of palliative care from St.John's Medical college and Hospital ,Bangalore conducted by Indian Association of palliative care August 2019
- NFPM-National fellowship in Palliative Medicine in Institute of palliative medicine 2022
- Completed training in International Neuropalliative care certificate course FEBRUARY 2024 under the Aegis of Kasturiba Medical college, Manipal and International neuropalliative care society, MInneapolis ,USA
- Has a special interest in communication on chronic disease management about Advance care paln, helping family of patients in bedbound state for future expertise care plan
- Good acquired skill in expalining end of life, Futiliy of care, Risk vs Benefit about the
- Cure /Care paln required for Terminally ill patients.
- Provides Effecient palliativecare in Hospice and Home based as well.
- Integrates to Provide a Long term multimodal team care approach involving doctors from multiple specialities and Rehablitative care.
