Peer-Reviewed Journal Publications:

  • A Rare Cause and a Case of an Exudative Pericardial Effusion – Journal of the Indian Academy of Echocardiography & Cardiovascular Imaging (JIAE) (Sekar R., Rathakrishnan S., Chandrasekar P., Kumar S. S., Radha A.; 2025). Published a landmark clinical case report outlining a 62-year-old patient presenting with a massive 18 mm effusive-constrictive pericardial shell mimicking tuberculous pericarditis that failed empirical anti-tuberculous therapy (ATT) and steroids. Advanced multimodality diagnostics (TTE, Cardiac MRI, and Chest CT) guided the treatment line toward successful surgical pericardiectomy. Histopathology and immunohistochemistry definitively established an ultra-rare Primary Malignant Pericardial Mesothelioma presenting strong positivity for Wilm's Tumor-1 (WT-1) and D2-40 Podoplanin markers.
  • Accessory Mitral Leaflet at the Left Ventricular Outflow Tract – Journal of the Indian Academy of Echocardiography & Cardiovascular Imaging (JIAE) (Rathakrishnan S., Sekar R.). Documented a rare congenital structural valvular anomaly involving an isolated accessory mitral valve tissue (AMVT) pocket inducing severe dynamic left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) obstruction. The paper underscores the absolute necessity of targeted non-invasive multi-plane imaging frameworks.
