Biography
- Dr. Meenu Preethi is a proficient Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrician with expertise in diagnosis and management of development delay, autism spectrum disorder, learning difficulties and behavioural problems like Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder(ADHD) in children.
- She began her medical education at Madurai Medical College, Madurai and went on to pursue MD Pediatrics from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Coimbatore. She subsequently completed 1 year of service as junior consultant in Thirumalai Mission Hospital, Ranipet.
- She further specialized exclusively in the field by completing a two year Post doctoral fellowship in Developmental Paediatrics at Christian Medical College, Vellore- India's leading institute in the field.
- Her special interests include early intervention for high risk infants, autism spectrum disorder management, and multidisciplinary collaboration for inclusive child development.
Clinical Expertise
- Early screening, diagnosis and management for children with speech delays, autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and intellectual disability
- Complete check-ups for slow development, behavioural problems, cerebral palsy and genetic conditions in children
- Regular check-ups to track child's growth milestones, catch problems early, timely intervention and optimisation of developmental outcomes
- Special follow-up clinics for premature babies, NICU graduates, and high-risk infants
- Teamwork with speech therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, occupational therapists to create individualized treatment plans for each child as per needs and strengths of the child
- Genetic testing guidance (chromosomes, DNA tests) and explaining results to parents
- Parent training programs to empower parents with home activities for child development
