Biography
- Dr. A. Rajkumar is a Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist with more than 25 years of experience in the field of Oncology. He completed his MBBS from Coimbatore Medical College, MD in Radiotherapy from Madras Medical College, and DM in Medical Oncology from Madras Medical College. He also holds a PG Diploma in Clinical Trials from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, University of London, UK.
- He has held key leadership positions including Head of the Department of Medical Oncology and Chairman of the Oncology Division at GKNM Hospital, Coimbatore. Dr. Rajkumar has extensive experience in the treatment of breast cancer, genitourinary cancers, head and neck cancers, and other solid tumors. His key area of expertise is in the treatment of breast cancers for which he has been the Lead Physician of the multi disciplinary team for the past two decades.
- He has actively participated in several national and international clinical trials and has authored multiple scientific publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals, including The Lancet Oncology. He has presented research papers at various national and international oncology conferences and has received awards for his scientific contributions and distinguished service in Oncology.

Publications
- Concurrent chemoradiation in head and neck cancers (2000). This is a prospective study spanning two years. This study was submitted as a dissertation to the TN Dr. MGR Medical University as a mandatory requirement of my residency training in Radiation Oncology.
- Utility and feasibility of anato-metabolic imaging in brain tumors. This was a prospective study done during my senior residency under the guidance of Dr.N.R. Datta, Professor of Radiation Oncology, SGPGIMS, Lucknow. This paper was presented at the Annual conference of UP Chapter of Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI), Lucknow, 2001.
- Prevalence of Helicobacter pylori in patients with carcinoma stomach- Our Experience. This was a prospective study done during my senior residency in Medical Oncology that analysed the prevalence of H.pylori among patients with carcinoma stomach at Madras Medical College. This paper was presented at the XI Biennial Conference of Indian Society of Oncology and XIII Biennial Conference of Indian Society of Medical & Pediatric Oncology at Bangalore 2004.
