Digital Transformation in Healthcare

The Department of Health Informatics was inaugurated in GKNM Hospital on June 12, 2024. Dr. Supten Sarbadhikari,(Health Informatics Educationist and Independent Consultant, Member and Advisor to the MoHFW, Govt. of India). a pioneer in this field, delivered a lecture on “Digital Transformation in Healthcare” and inaugurated the department thereon. Dr. Sundarakumar (Medical Informatics Officer) welcomed the guest speaker and the gathering. Our CEO, Dr. Ragupathy Veluswamy delivered the presidential address and gave an insightful talk about various aspects of digital transformation in the healthcare sector The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Biju Velayuthan

The Department of Health Informatics is the first of its kind in the region. It’s a combo of technology, and clinical care embraced together to facilitate evidence-based standards, remote care, telemedicine, and data analytics and to improve care by incorporating technologies like machine learning tools, business intelligence, and AI to help the community receive quality care at an affordable price. We will be focusing on augmenting digital health literacy by initiating teaching and learning methodologies, and we will also be focusing on research in health informatics to improve the health ecosystem.
