On March 8th, the International Women’s Day was celebrated in GKNMH by conducting games and competitions with all the women staff participating eagerly. The celebrations culminated on March 11, 2023, with various programs, with the occasion graced by Mr. S. Senthil Valavan, Director of Coimbatore International Airport as the chief guest.

The celebrations began with lamp lighting by the chief guest along with women employees across the strata, followed by welcome address to the gathering by Mrs. Bhanu Rao. The chief guest with his speech inspired the women talking about how yoga will help women to be stress free and balance their home, work, and health.

The Women Achievers of GKNMH in their respective fields were felicitated with certificates and gifts. Prizes were distributed to all the winners of various competitions like dance solo and group, painting, poetry writing, skit, rangoli, kolam, etc.

Dr. Baby Padmini and staff nurse, Mrs. Subha shared their experiences of working here at GKNMH. Dr. Amudha Giridhar gave vote of thanks, appreciating all women who had participated in the events irrespective of their winning prizes. The MC for the occasion Mrs. Pavithra, needs a special mention here for her lively compering. Of course, the programs ended with a very happy note with dances and singing with a free-for-all stage.
