G.Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital, a renowned and most trusted multi-speciality hospital in Coimbatore organised the Annual Symposium (2nd CME) of the Association of Radiation Therapy Technologists of Tamilnadu (ARTT TN – 2024) on 19 May 2024 in the hospital premises under the theme “Advances in Radiation Therapy Technology – From Theory to Reality”.

The scientific event witnessed a well-attended gathering of around 200 delegates from various hospitals and teaching institutes across the state. Eminent speakers including Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists and Radiotherapy Technologists from different medical institutions in Coimbatore in the domain of Radiation Oncology delivered talks on spectrum of topics relevant to recent innovations and cutting-edge technologies in radiation treatment of cancer.

Radiation therapy technologists play a vital role of in the radiation treatment of cancer along with Radiation Oncologists and Medical Physicists. Radiation treatment technology has evolved leaps and bounds in last two decades, highly sophisticated, safe and precise requiring continuous training and updation of knowledge in Clinical Oncology, Radiation Technology, Radiation Safety, Radiation Physics etc.

The delegates gained deeper insights of the newer practices and enhanced their confidence in their workplaces to deliver precise, effective and safe radiation administration to cancer patients. Earlier in the day, under the patronage of Dr.Ragupathy Velusamy – CEO of GKNM Hospital, Dr.G.Manoharan – CMO inaugurated the symposium in the presence of Organising Team and Association Office bearers.
