The department of Nuclear Medicine established in 1975 is one among the earliest centres in the country. The first Gamma camera was installed in 1993 and was the first of its kind in this region. Today the department is equipped with the latest dual head variable angle Siemen's E CAM Gamma Camera with advanced E-Soft work station and a fully equipped isolation ward as per the regulations laid down by the AERB. All conventional Nuclear Medicine scans including SPECT are routinely carried out in the department. Therapy for hyper thyroid patients,thyroid cancer patients and pain palliative therapy for patients with multiple skeletal metastasis are available. The department also has a Gamma probe which is used for sentinel lymph node localization during surgeries as and when required. The department adheres to all safety norms and quality assurance standards as required by the AERB.
